Late scratches are a nightmare in any Fantasy Football timeslot, but its hard to figure how they could get any worse than a scratch that takes place on a Sunday morning on the other side of the pond a few hours ahead. Such was the case when Jaylen Warren was scratched from the Steelers lineup ahead of the Dublin victory over the Minnesota Vikings. But there was a bright spot from the panic pickup player.

Enter Kenneth Gainwell: His line 19 carries for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Gainwell has been eyed as Warren safety net for some time: FF observers have been watching Gainwell since the beginning of the season because of Warren’s inconsistencies.

Entering the bye: We’ll all have to monitor Warren’s recovery and decide where to go from there. But we’re going to need Gainwell type numbers from anyone in our line up regardless of who Aaron Rodgers hands the ball off to.

Bottom Line: If you’ve got the space, pick up Gainwell, and keep an eye on Warren. But neither should be a hard starter in line ups until we get more certainty.
