Fantasy Football: With Aaron Jones To IR, Jordan Mason To Workload Increase

ESPN announced Tuesday afternoon, that Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones will be headed to injured reserve after a hamstring injury suffered in the loss against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night.

Jordan Mason will see a bump in carries: It had been running back by committee in the first two games of the season, now with Jones hurt and starting QB JJ McCarthy also out for a number of games, the offense will have to lean on Mason more.

Cam Akers: Is also expected to return, and while his experience will get him on the field as well, he shouldn’t see nearly as much work as Jones did.

The Bengals are coming to town: As a team who is also missing their starting quarterback. If their offense struggles, it could be a long grind for points on Sunday.

Bottom Line: Mason is already on a lot of rosters, but if you were thinking about cutting him loose, I would wait for a while to see if his numbers will improve.
