Dancing With The Stars Season 34: Week 5 Songs For Dedication Night Listed
Dancing With The Stars is off to a fast start, with voting records being broken, and viewers taking to social media to voice their opinions more than ever before.
That being said, it’s time to break out the tissues with Week 5 giving us “Dedication Night” where the celebrities will get a chance to say thank you to the loved ones in their life who have meant something to them.
Here are the songs announced for dedication night, and some quick analysis.
Andy Richter and Emma Slater will do a Salsa to “Jump In the Line” by Harry Belafonte, dedicating the performance to his daughter, Cornelia.
Fast Take: Heart has taken Richter further than expected. And he’ll need heart to survive. He’s the only easy elimination left.
Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas will perform a Contemporary to “Heal” by Jamal Roberts, dedicating the routine to her husband, Connor.
Fast Take: Dedication Night arrives as the “boo birds” zero in on Whitney for her extensive dance history and over the top ‘villain’ energy. This is the most talented couple. But they’ve now got to be the most liked couple as Connor engages critics on social media.
Robert Irwin and Witney Carson will perform a Contemporary to “You’ll Be In My Heart” by Phil Collins, dedicating the dance to his mother, Terri Irwin.
Fast Take: Viewers love this family. After an ordinary performance last week, Robert can have everyone crying in their popcorn after next week.
Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold will perform a Foxtrot to “Parallel” by yes, Scott Hoying, dedicating the performance to his husband, Mark.
Fast Take: They steadied the ship. Now Scott and Rylee have to try to jump into the top tier.
Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten will perform a Foxtrot to “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole, dedicating the performance to her best friend and “Abbott Elementary” star, Lisa Ann Walter.
Fast Take: The Abbott Elementary synergy has worked out well for Hendrix (and ABC). Viewers love Elaine and Lisa Walter. A lot of reasons for optimism here.
Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov will perform a Jive to “Boy Meets World” by Twenty Cent Crush, dedicating the routine to “Boy Meets World” co-star Bill Daniels better known as Mr. Feeny .
Fast Take: ABC sitcom Gen Xers will adore this. And Danielle is only getting better.
Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach will dance a Contemporary to “Rewrite the Stars” by Zac Efron & Zendaya, dedicating the routine to his little sister, Olivia.
Fast Take: Fans are demanding at least a video from Zac. And Zendaya is always a powerful name on DWTS you want in your orbit.
Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy will dance a Contemporary to “Sparks” by Coldplay, dedicating the performance to her younger sister Izabel.
Fast Take: Alix stock is high after last week. And this is a lovely song. If Whitney or Robert slip, she’ll have a chance.
Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa will dance a Viennese Waltz to “Daughters” by John Mayer, dedicating the performance to her father, Timothy.
Fast Take: Jordan is cruising along just fine. Dancing to “Daughters” with a dedication to your dad is great stuff.
Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik will dance a Viennese Waltz to “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle, dedicating the performance to her mother, Maria.
Fast Take: The “Mormon Wives” plot armor may be fading soon but I can’t forget this survey from last week…
