Fantasy Football: Jacory Croskey-Merritt Will See More Carries After Austin Ekeler Injury
The Washington Commanders are saying that running back Austin Ekeler suffered an Achilles tear during the Thursday night loss at Green Bay. If that’s the case, then Ekeler’s season is likely over.
If Ekeler was part of your Fantasy Football running back corp, then you may need only look to the next name on the depth chart for a replacement.
Jacoby Croskey-Merritt: Had already been seeing an increase in carries before Ekeler got hurt, and he stands to move up now that Ekeler is likely done for the season.
His numbers haven’t been crazy: He’s got 99 yards in two games, but has been to the end zone. Granted, the Commanders were being terrorized all night Thursday evening by Micah Parsons.
That should improve when the Raiders come to town: With some extra rest after Thursday night, and the Raiders coming off of a shorter week with a Monday night date against the Chargers, JCM should be in much better shape.
Bottom Line: You’ve got some extra time to evaluate the fallout from the Ekeler injury, but if you don’t have a limit on pickups then it might not be a bad idea to add JCM now.
Did you have Austin Ekler? Do you plan on adding Jacoby Croskey Merritt? Let me know in the comments.
