Magic The Gathering: Hellspur Brute Is Potentially Cheap, Trampling Muscle

“Umm, yeah, I’d like to cast this 5/4 with trample forrrrr one red mana!”
Intro: If you wanted to run a cool “Outlaw” deck, then you’ll want Hellspur Brute, who could potentially come at a ridiculously cheap cost.
What The Card Actually Says: Affinity for outlaws (This spell cost 1 less to cast for each Assassin, Mercenary, Pirate, Rogue, and/or Warlock you control).
Trample
“The last fool who called him “cowboy” earned a free ride to the bottom of Blacksnag Bog.”
The Good: You could build a diverse deck of outlaws that could do a ton of things, and still get this 5/4 bruiser for cheap. And when you look at the cards included in the outlaw classification it’s a lot of cool creatures. And it also has trample. If you find other effects then you could buff him into a problem very quickly.
The Bad: No reason to really have him otherwise. That synergy is really where his value lies.
The Verdict: Hellspur Brute should have a place in your deck if you’re running anything tribal involving the Outlaw class. This guy is a potentially huge mid-game bargain. And a real life bargain too. He’s less than 50 cents at the time of publication.
Do you have Hellspur Brute in your deck? Let me know in the comments.
